Canadians might be surprised to learn that the No Fly List, were never debated nor put before the legislator.
Instead it went in the back door…
The government brought in the list “through the back door,” said Vonn. “Clearly this is a national security measure. It should go to the public safety committee.”
On top of this,the words No Fly List were never mentioned,as the proposed legislation moved through the process,before being passed.
“No one who passed this legislation would have any reason to believe that they were putting in a no-fly list,” said Vonn. “The words ‘no fly’ have never been uttered in a parliamentary debate on the issue of whether or not we should do this.”

Calling the process by which the list was enacted “illegitimate,” the association is calling on MPs who belong to the Commons public safety committee to hold public hearings into the list.
The list “doesn’t do a darn thing for security,” BCCLA policy director Micheal Vonn told The Tyee.
“It has terrible implications for rights and it’s massively subject to abuse.
And it’s not like the government did not have other examples to look at.Fly Lists have been used in the US for some time with predictable results.
U.S. no-fly list has had a “devastating impact on thousands of ordinary citizens who have been flagged by the system mistakenly or because they have a name that sounds like a name on the list.”
But then nobody has ever accused the government or it’s Bureaucracy’s,of being rational or capable of logical thought.
So for the time being,unless Civil Rights groups and ordinary Canadians raise a stink and demand public hearings,seems as of Monday.The lives of Canadians just got a bit more complicated.
There’s just no hiding from the paranoid absurdities,unleashed upon a hapless citizenry,in the aftermath of 911.
Canada is the first country in the world that will now request ID for any child that appears to be 12 or older.Notice the word appear,so who makes the call ?
That should bring to a screeching halt,any plans the terrorists might be hatching,to employ 12 year olds(or those that appear to be 12) as bombers and hijackers.

This change is related to the governments decision to implement No Fly lists,and falls under Transport Canada’s new, Identity Screening Regulations.
One thing I don’t understand,who gets on this No Fly List ? The government says the list will contain names of those who pose an immediate threat to airline safety.
It doesn’t make sense,who decides who is an immediate threat,and what kind of threat ? Is the threat assessment based on past actions,legal definition or just some bureaucrats intuition ?
More silly,paranoid nonsense from the government that sees non-existent threats every where.
Either that or some security industry lobby group has identified a “weakness”.That will only cost ? to “fix”.
The US and Canada have delayed the passport requirement for Canadians traveling between the two countries.
What will we do,does this means,that terrorist will be able to infiltrate until 2009.
